Just a small town gal and that is all I'll ever be,
where life is just another iced sweet tea away,
where you can see the twinkling stars at night,
the wonders of the moon,
and puffy white clouds floating across the blue sky.
Welcome to my blog from the heartland, full of random musings, observations, reflections, things I love, events in my life, humor..

Today is the first day of fall
In this rural area that means nothing at all
As the thermometer on the wall
Says it is still sizzling summer temperatures

We well know that on rare occasions
We might have four seasons in one day
So as I write this, by this afternoon, just maybe
It may start to feel more like fall

So for now will enjoy the leaves
Changing to vibrant colors
As the gentle breezes loosen their hold
Dancing in the wind
Before falling gracefully to the ground below
While we wait on the return of crisp autumn air

We are blessed and glad to live where one can enjoy the annual rites of passage of the changing of the seasons--Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring."
