Just a small town gal and that is all I'll ever be,
where life is just another iced sweet tea away,
where you can see the twinkling stars at night,
the wonders of the moon,
and puffy white clouds floating across the blue sky.
Welcome to my blog from the heartland, full of random musings, observations, reflections, things I love, events in my life, humor..

Love our small town newspaper. Not many towns this size still have a local newspaper. The news for rural towns this size and smaller usually wind up as a blip in a column if anything at all in some larger city's paper in the area. We feel blessed that Cedar Vale still has a weekly newspaper. It is important for a small town to have a local paper and have a source of information they can trust.

Each week you may find birth, death, engagement and wedding news as well as anniversary celebrations, or milestones and awards of locals or of those who once made Cedar Vale their home. News items pertaining to school events and sporting events keeps one up to date with school happenings. A community calendar notes the various events/happenings taken place the next week. There is a weather report from previous week, menus for friendship meals and you don't want to forget to read the advertisements for local businesses so you don't miss a bargain or what they have to offer right here locally as well as in Chautauqua county. Although, 'The Cedar Vale Lookout' is comprised of much local and county area news, it continues to remain relevant in today's media environment with applicable state and national news.

If you haven't read 'The Cedar Vale Lookout', put this on your to do list. There are several places to buy locally or in the county or you can subscribe and receive in the mail each week. It may be a small town newspaper, but it is packed with local news, as well as pertinent area towns and county, state and national news. You'll be glad you did.

"That endless book, the newspaper, is our national glory." Henry Ward Beecher
