Health Care Reform Bill In A Nutshell: |
|
Just a small town gal and that is all I'll ever be, where life is just another iced sweet tea away, where you can see the twinkling stars at night, the wonders of the moon, and puffy white clouds floating across the blue sky. Welcome to my blog from the heartland, full of random musings, observations. things I love, events in my life, humor..
Health Care Reform Bill In A Nutshell
1.) Higher Taxes - tax increases across the board on all families, all sectors.
Taxes on Medical Equipment
Taxes on High Income Earners
Taxes on Those without "Acceptable Coverage"
"Health care contributions of nonelecting employers"
2.) $500 Billion in cuts to Medicare - Normally reforming Medicare is something we would support to reduce costs and improve efficiency of care but in this case the cuts are designed to force more seniors into the total government option.
3.) Single Payer/Government System - Largest expansion of government ever. Government will control every aspect of YOUR medical care.
4.) Taxpayer funded abortion - Despite decades of promises that the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v Wade would not lead to taxpayer funding going to abortions.
5.) Death Panels - The comparative effectiveness research panels are back in the bill and will be in place to help ration care.
6.) No Private choice - This bill would actually ban new private health insurance plans from being created.
