Bright yellow, red and bronze foliage

Gently floating, dancing in the breeze

Creating a magic carpet of colorful jewels

That we are grateful for a life full of autumns

Savoring this annual rite of passage

Before the wonderland of winter's beauty begins

Up another hill, then down we go, round the curves
Cattle grazing in the pastures,
We knew we were getting closer
To that place where we loved and were loved
A country place our folks called 'up home'

We turn off the highway
Go through the small rural town
Go to the curve turn left, one block then right
